How to get help faster when you call GVR

If you have called us recently, you have likely heard our AI-assisted phone system in action. With it now in place, the next step is making it work for you.

This system is designed to connect you with the right support faster. But how you interact with it can make a difference in how quickly you get where you need to go.

When you call, you do not need to know the right department or staff member. Instead, describe your issue in your own words. The system uses that information to connect you to the right person.

For example:

  • “I need help with my listing”
  • “I want to register for a course”
  • “I have a question about my invoice”
  • “I’m having trouble with my CMA”

If your issue is technical and requires assistance from a specialist, you may be asked to set up an appointment for a callback starting this Monday, April 27. Our goal is to offer same-day appointments where possible.

This new process will help keep our phone lines available, while giving our support specialists the time they need to resolve your technical issues.

That means we will connect you with the right person without long hold times or repeated explanations, so you can spend more time on your business and less time waiting on the phone.

I understand that there are frustrations around the new system, and there are always growing pains when new systems are implemented. Our goal is not to replace human connection. It is to make it easier to reach the right one. I appreciate your patience as the system refines and matures.


Stay vigilant when meeting clients for the first time

A female member recently endured a terrifying ordeal when meeting a 'client' for the first time.

After filling in for a colleague and meeting the client 'Ershad' at one of his Surrey properties, he attempted to confine her to a locked basement, touching her often and making inappropriate comments. He also claimed her vehicle had been towed while speaking to another person over the phone.

The member was able to extricate herself from the situation and, after reporting the incident, discovered that 'Ershad' is known to police and has an open file.

If you’re contacted by this person, do not engage with them. If you’ve been victimized by this person, contact Surrey RCMP.

Two motions pass at CREA’s 2026 AGM

The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) recently held their annual general meeting (AGM) in Ottawa. Delegations from boards and associations across Canada were in attendance, including GVR’s.

Two financial motions presented during the meeting passed: A cost-of-living adjustment to CREA dues, and special assessments in 2027 and 2028 to bolster CREA’s Legal Defense Fund.
