Nominations open: what GVR is looking for in future directors
We are now accepting nominations for our 2026 Board of Directors election. Email becomeadirector@gvrealtors.ca to start the nomination process.
The nomination period closes at 5 pm on Friday, November 14. Our 2026 election will open January 23, 2026 and will run until noon, January 30, 2026.
While previous governance experience is helpful, it is not the only thing that matters. We are looking for individuals who bring a range of qualities, such as:
- A willingness to learn
- Strong collaboration skills
- Good listening and communication
- Curiosity and thoughtful questioning
- Strategic, big-picture thinking
- Time and energy to commit
- A strong connection to members
- Respect for governance (Directors govern; the CEO manages)
- A genuine interest in the success of the profession
