Key changes coming to the Rules of Cooperation on August 1
Earlier this month, we announced a series of Rules of Cooperation changes set to go into effect August 1.
The changes are a key part of our ongoing work to raise standards in the profession and implement recommendations from our professionalism white paper.
We believe it is long overdue to require comprehensive strata documents at the time of listing, have greater REALTOR® accountability for the actions of their unlicensed assistants, and to establish a clear standard that members with active listings must respond to queries and communicate about their listing in a timely manner.
Get the full rundown of changes here. We’ll share more resources to help you prepare for August 1 in the coming weeks.
Reminder: New sale status, information coming to MLS® in July
The new sales statuses for MLS® listings will be coming to Paragon, REALTOR.ca, and other platforms later this month. We'll announce the exact date soon.
These new statuses will help Realtors, homebuyers, and sellers get a better sense of how far along a listing is in the transaction lifecycle.
We strongly encourage you to use these new statuses once they're available. Refer to this guide to understand how you can use them. You can also review this FAQ, and a workflow chart that illustrates how these new statuses will be used.
