Service Re-Imagined: A new era of member support is underway

We are re-imagining how we serve you.

A key focus for our leadership team this year is the execution of something we are calling Service Re-Imagined, a bold, organization-wide initiative to modernize and transform the way we deliver service to members. This is not a small update or system tweak—this is our digital transformation, a re-engineering of how we support your success.

Our goal in this initiative is straightforward: make it faster and easier for you to get the support, tools, and information you need—so you can stay focused on your business.

Over the next 12–14 months, we will roll out a comprehensive 5-point action plan designed to reshape our service experience, from how we respond to inquiries to the technology that powers our systems.

Honouring Richard Le: GVR supports victim’s son after Vancouver festival attack

People across Canada and the world were shocked and saddened to hear about the tragic and senseless attack that occurred at the Lapu Lapu Day festival in Vancouver on Saturday, April 26.

Among the people who lost their lives in the attack were Realtor Richard Le, a GVR member who worked out of Royal Pacific Realty in Vancouver, along with his wife Linh Hoang and their five-year-old daughter Katie Le.

GVR donated $10,000 to the GoFundMe account set up to support Richard's surviving son, Andy. Andy and his family deactivated the account after raising over $540,000, and Andy has since donated approximately half of that total to support other victims of the incident.

I encourage all members and people within the community to do what you can to support all the victims of this heartbreaking attack on innocent people in Vancouver.

The BDC works year-round to ensure there’s always a healthy, diverse selection of qualified candidates for members to elect to our Board of Directors. Serving on the BDC offers:

  • A front-row seat to leadership and governance in real estate
  • A unique chance to shape our association’s direction and impact
  • Personal and professional growth that can elevate your career

If you’re curious about taking this next step, we’d love to connect. No commitment, just a chance to learn more.

Let’s build the path for tomorrow’s leaders together!

New, free cyber security service available from E&O

The Real Estate Errors and Omissions Insurance Corporation (E&O) is now offering free access to Cyber Guard, an online loss prevention service, to all insured real estate practitioners in BC.

Cyber Guard is a cybersecurity program powered by DynaRisk, a global platform that protects hundreds of thousands of users worldwide. It's specifically tailored to the unique needs of real estate professionals and brokers.

For brokerages, Cyber Guard offers Breach Defense which includes:

  • Dark web, vulnerability, and hacker activity monitoring
  • Employee training including phishing simulations and IT policy templates
  • 24/7 cyber support plus tools and resources for your whole team

This is a loss prevention program, not cyber insurance. There’s no policy or premium involved. But it’s a powerful way to protect your clients’ information and your own reputation.

If your brokerage is interested in cyber insurance coverage beyond this program, you’ll need to connect with your insurance broker directly.

PacificWest 2025: Help your team grow and save 20 per cent with group registration

As a managing broker, you play a central role in guiding your agents’ professional development. The PacificWest Conference returns for its third year this October, and it’s your opportunity to help your team earn six self-directed PDP hours while strengthening their business acumen and professional networks.

PacificWest 2025 is co-hosted by Greater Vancouver REALTORS® and the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board, and this year’s conference promises our boldest programming yet. You can expect powerhouse speakers, forward-looking learning, and a trade show with over 90 vendors ready to support your practice.

Simplified group registration—plus a group discount

We offer group discounts in addition to our early bird pricing. If you register 10 or more attendees at once, we’ll take 20 per cent off the final total.

To simplify things, we’ve created an Excel form for you – just fill out all of the yellow-highlighted columns and send it to info@pacificwest.ca. Once we receive it, we will register your list. They will then receive an email from PacificWest with instructions on how to pay the amount owing for their tickets.

Whether you’re registering agents from your office, team, or brokerage network, this makes coordinating attendance quick and painless.

New this year: A dedicated summit for managing brokers

Alongside the main conference (October 21), managing brokers are invited to join a half-day summit on October 20, sponsored by the British Columbia Real Estate Association. The summit is designed specifically for brokerage leaders and will dive deeper into issues facing brokerages today.
