AGM results and new Board of Directors announced
Members voted to approve the special resolution up for vote at the Greater Vancouver REALTORS® (GVR) Annual General Meeting held in Burnaby on March 27.
Thanks to the approximately 282 members who participated in the AGM at the Delta Hotel Burnaby either online or in-person.
After the meeting, on March 28, REALTOR® Sam Wyatt was officially installed as Chair of the GVR Board of Directors for the 2025/2026 term.
Sam's been a Realtor since 2004. He also holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and, in his free time, is an avid mountain climber, having summitted world renowned peaks like Cho-Oyu, Denali, and Everest.
Learn more about Sam and meet your 2025/2026 Board of Directors .
Share our latest op-ed seeking industry collaboration to refine and advance GVR’s latest housing affordability proposal
We are pursuing industry-wide collaboration to help us refine and advance our recent proposal focused on making home ownership attainable for more Canadians. The proposal calls for the creation a national program called the Canadian Home Ownership Community Bond.
My latest op-ed in REM Magazine outlines how the bond could help qualified buyers overcome the down payment hurdle that impedes home ownership for many people in Canada’s most expensive markets.
Help us amplify the message by sharing this article on your social media channels and starting conversations with clients about innovative solutions to housing affordability.
Thanks for your support!
GVR’s Canada Post discount now available: What you need to know to get started
Our Canada Post discount program is officially live. If you use unaddressed ad mail to reach clients, this exclusive GVR member offer could cut your postage costs by 40 per cent.
To access the discount, contact Member Relations at 604-730-3090. Our team will walk you through the setup process and will provide you with both an account login and a specific discount code to use that only works with the GVR account.
This program is a trial, open to all GVR members for 12 months. After that, pricing will change based on the volume of use.
Pending and closed statuses coming to REALTOR.ca April 10
Beginning April 10, "pending" and "closed" statuses will be sent to REALTOR.ca, giving buyers and sellers clearer insights into market activity.
Additionally, the display period for sold prices will be reduced from one year to 30 days after closing, aligning with public expectations for timely and accurate data.
We understand REALTOR.ca is a key platform for showcasing listings and generating leads. These updates help ensure that the information your prospective clients see is accurate and up to date, increasing engagement with listings and strengthening the REALTOR® value proposition.

BCREA launches housing policy guide ahead of federal election
With Canadians heading to the polls later this month, the stakes are high. From mounting economic and trade pressures to ongoing affordability and housing challenges, voters are facing a complex landscape, especially in British Columbia.
To help navigate it, the British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) has launched a national housing policy information page, designed to support informed voting decisions.
Whether you’re looking to educate your clients, or deepen your own understanding, I recommend you check out this resource.
Is your child graduating from high school in 2025?
If you or any of the members in your office have a child graduating high school this summer, let them know about GVR's entrance scholarships!
Each year we award five $1,500 entrance scholarships to our members’ children entering post-secondary education based on performance in academics, athletics, fine arts, and community service. The recipients are chosen by a team of independent adjudicators.
