Why you should check out Payload, the new deposit payment platform

We want to help our brokerage community streamline the way buyers’ pay deposits at no additional cost to you.

To do this, we have partnered with the payment processing company Payload to provide brokerages with the capability for home buyer deposits to pay their deposits into your brokerage trust account directly from a branded web page on your brokerage website.

Payload provides a secure and intuitive payment automation platform designed specifically for real estate. Starting now, all GVR-member brokerages can access this service without cost to the brokerage. Payload is a PCI-compliant provider that has provided similar services with other real estate organizations across North American, including the Alberta Real Estate Association.

Payload allows buyers to pay their deposits through a secure, branded web portal that works with almost any bank, and deposits the funds directly into your brokerage account.

This partnership reflects GVR’s continued commitment to helping simplify your business operations while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and compliance.

Our login system is changing to REALTOR.ca SSO solution: What you need to know

We’re updating the login system for Paragon to a new, more modern, and secure Single Sign On (SSO) solution on June 17.

This new login is through the Canadian Real Estate Association’s REALTOR.ca SSO solution that includes enhanced security with multi-factor authentication, easier password management, and a streamlined login experience across your apps.

This is the final part of a transition we began in October 2023, with some services like WEBForms and REALTOR.ca already using this screen in conjunction with our previous login screen.

The REALTOR.ca SSO will keep your information more secure while protecting GVR’s databases and systems.

If you’ve logged into our member website at member.gvrealtors.ca, REALTOR.ca, or WEBForms since October 2023, you’re already set up to use the new login system. In fact, you’ve likely already seen this system while logging into any of these services.

If you haven’t logged into any of these services, we’ve proactively created a CREA account for you ahead of the transition date. You should receive a CREA email before the transition date confirming your CREA account has been created.

Once you receive this email, click the link and follow the instructions to set up your account. If you miss this email, don’t worry – next time you log in to your GVR account after June 17, click the “Sign Up” button on the login page, or click here to register now.

Stay alert – new reports of REALTORS® receiving harassing phone calls

We’ve recently received reports of REALTORS® receiving lewd, harassing calls. These calls are targeting women and begin with the harasser posing as a potential client before they escalate.

Trust your gut – if a potential client is making you feel uncomfortable, end the call. If you’re receiving harassing or inappropriate emails, don’t engage, and block the harasser.

We also suggest you note the time, date, and contact details of the harasser and file a report with your local police detachment using their non-emergency line.

If your harasser is making threats, or if you believe you’re in immediate danger, call 911.
