Making sales more transparent – new sale status, information coming to MLS®
New sales statuses coming to the MLS® in early June will be visible anywhere the MLS® listing is posted, from Paragon to Realtor.ca, and is intended to provide more transparency to both Realtors and buyers and sellers.
While these statuses will be implemented for all members, as brokers, you can set your own rules for your salespeople around using the new statuses.
To help you understand what these new statuses mean, and why your association decided to implement them, we created this information package for brokers.
You can also review this FAQ, and a new workflow chart that illustrates how these new statuses will be used.
I encourage you to read over these documents before defining your own rules around these statuses.

FINTRAC expands API to include Suspicious Transaction Reports
Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) is expanding its application programing interface (API) to allow REALTORS® to submit Suspicious Transaction Report forms.
An API is a way to allow two pieces of software to communicate with each other. For example, your association offers an API that allows website providers to connect to the MLS® to offer a Virtual Office Website.
Brokers looking to access FINTRAC’s report submission API should have their technical administration apply using the FINTRAC API portal, or by contacting FINTRAC by email at F2R@fintrac-canafe.gc.ca.
If you’re unfamiliar with APIs, and you’d like to use it to submit report information, we suggest you contact an IT professional.
Travelling abroad? Plan ahead to access GVR services
If you or the members in your office are travelling abroad, we’d like to remind you that some of GVR's online services, including Paragon MLS®, are unavailable outside of North America.
Keeping certain services from being accessed outside of North America is a security best practice and is part of our commitment to prioritizing the security of our members.
We understand the importance of staying connected. If you anticipate needing access to services like Paragon MLS® while abroad, plan ahead with a colleague who may be able to assist you while you’re away.
This ensures you have a seamless and secure experience, whether you're visiting family abroad, or planning a summer holiday.
Safe travels!

Make your best retirement plan with GVR and INTEGRIS
If you’re an incorporated REALTOR®, you have a unique opportunity to register a Personal Pension Plan (PPP) with INTEGRIS Pension Management Corp through our partnership.
A PPP allows incorporated professionals to invest more income toward retirement and pay fewer taxes annually compared to what’s allowed under the federal government’s RRSP and TFSA programs.
Review resources, watch a video, and listen to INTEGRIS CEO JP Laporte discuss this new offering on GVR's Critical Path podcast on our news blog.
