Saying goodbye to the Ethics Guy®, Kim Spencer

Today marks the end of the Ethics Guy®, Kim Spencer’s tenure as Greater Vancouver REALTORS® Director of Professional Standards.

Through nearly 50 years in real estate, Kim’s left an indelible impression upon us all. With a blend of humour, wit, and his extensive knowledge of our profession, the Ethics Guy® has been a go-to source of information and analysis for years.

I’ve enjoyed getting to know Kim in our brief time working together, and I know I won’t be the only one who misses his presence in our professional space.

Read Kim’s farewell column here. Please join me in wishing Kim all the best in his retirement!

New episode of Critical Path podcast - Mastering commercial real estate with CCIM’s Steve Da Cruz

Commercial real estate is a difficult niche. Beyond real estate trading experience and expertise, commercial practitioners need to have a deep understanding of finances, risk mitigation, investment principles, and more.

That’s where the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Institute comes in.

In our latest episode of the Critical Path, we sit down with Steve Da Cruz, CCIM to discuss Greater Vancouver REALTORS®’ partnership with CCIM and how a designation can help boost your career goals, practical advice on how to enter commercial real estate, and how CCIM courses can benefit residential Realtors as well.

Listen below.

Don’t post MLS® tour images and videos on your accounts

MLS® tours are a popular way for members to generate exposure for their listings while networking and staying on top of the local market.

However, we’ve been hearing that some members are taking photos and videos of tour listings and posting them to their websites and social media accounts. This is a violation of Article 14 of the REALTOR® Code and Rule 8.3 of the Rules of Cooperation as this practice potentially puts the safety and security of the seller’s home at risk.

Learn more here, and please share this important message with the members in your office.

It’s now easier to submit your listings with other provincial boards

Submitting interboard listings within the province is now easier thanks to our new online guide. You’ll save time and post listings faster.

Access this new resource here and be sure to share it with any members who work on interboard deals in your office.
